The NBA Is Back, But Are Fans Ready?

The players have spoken, and the NBA is set to kickoff a continuation of the 2019-2020 season in a few short weeks. It was not long ago that the league put the entire world on high alert by declaring an indefinite season suspension.



The NBA and NBA Players Association voted on and approved a proposal that shortens the NBA season, and enters 22 NBA teams into playoff contention.


What About the Fans?

Many fans are wondering how they will fit into the new format, and some feel that the season should be suspended permanently. We spoke to long-time Golden State Warrior fan Pamela Denise who said that "the Warriors season is over, so I don't care about the rest of the NBA!" After losing Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to injury, the Warriors saw their streak of Finals appearances (5 straight) come to an end, so it isn't surprising that many Warriors fans are ready to pack it in...read..1-2-3- Cancun!


The Controversy

As the revised schedule garners media and fan attention, many are not shy in pointing out that the proposal isn't fair to teams who were fighting for a playoff spot before the season came to a screeching halt. And who do fans point to as the ultimate beneficiary? You guessed it, Lebron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. James is on a quest for a 4th title and with all of the unwarranted criticism as a by product of Jordan's Last Dance, it is safe to save that he is a man on a mission as time winds down on his decorated career.

Ready or Not, Here the NBA Comes.

Whether fans like it or not, the NBA is roaring back to life and the current pandemic will not stand in its way. Fans are adjusting to post COVID-19 life which includes watching a ton of TV, and the NBA produces marquee entertainment that can take our minds away from troubling current events.
